I have been teaching middle and high school for 16 years. While primarily a Social Studies and Science teacher, I have also taught Language Arts and Math. I started my career in Georgia with Rome City Schools as a high school Economics and World History teacher, but through the years I have learned to LOVE teaching middle school science. This is my second year with Bartow County and I am very proud to work in the community I call home!
I have coached multiple sports in the past both at the high school and middle school level. Cross-country is my favorite and I currently spend my summers running with the Woodland runners. I attended college on an athletic scholarship for Cross-Country, and while I am no longer a competitive athlete, I enjoy the occasional road race.
I actually started out as a volunteer coach, but soon realized that working with/listening to young people to help them set goals and achieve success was my calling. I enjoy running and taking care of my animals. I ride horses and hike. I love nature and gardening, and am an avid reader.
I currently have 10 chickens, 5 dogs, 2 goats, 1 pig, 1 cat and 1 horse. I have two children attending Woodland High School. Patrick is a 10th grader and runs both Cross Country and Track. Erin is a 9th grader and very involved with the band. My youngest, Teagan, is a 5th grader at Taylorsville Elementary School and loves playing soccer. All my children enjoy school and a good book, as well. My husband is a mechanical engineer and avid soccer fan.
