About Me:
My professional background began in 1997 where I ran a large shipping department for Plaid Enterprises, the world's largest arts and crafts manufacturer and distributor. After obtaining my bachelors degree in 2006, I began teaching at Grayson High School in Grayson, Georgia where I taught 12 grade resource math for students seeking a technical track diploma. After teaching at Grayson High School for 4 years, I decided to relocate to Covington, Georgia where I taught at Alcovy High School as a full-inclusion teacher for all academic areas. After marrying my husband and moving to Euharlee in 2013, the drive to Newton County was too far for me to travel each day, so I quickly accepted a full-inclusion teaching position at Woodland Middle School.  I became a teacher because I knew I had a gift of connecting with students who were struggling academically and socially.

In addition to teaching, I am the Head Cheer Coach for Football and Basketball. This will be my 10th year coaching cheerleading. I began coaching in 2010 as a Varsity Basketball Cheer Coach. I have also coached JV Football Cheer at the high school level. I have been coaching middle school cheer for 4 years at Woodland Middle School.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and watching him perform (he plays guitar), spending time with my in-laws in Canton, Georgia, talking to my grandmother on the phone from Dallas, Texas, having girls day with my daughter, getting mani/pedi's, and playing with my adorable chihuahuas.

I am originally from Dallas, Texas. I moved to Grayson, Georgia in 1995. Before coming to Woodland Middle School in 2013, I taught high school in Gwinnett County and Newton County. Woodland was my first experience at being a middle school teacher. After marrying my husband, Ashley Taylor, almost 4 years ago, we relocated to Euharlee, Georgia. I have 1 daughter, Aimee, who is 24. She is a successful hair stylist at Ulta Beauty in Cartersville, Georgia. I could not be more proud of her accomplishments and hard work. My husband and I have 2 3-year-old daughters, Phoebe and Sasha. They are pure breed chihuahuas and are the absolute light of our lives. Anyone who knows me knows that when I say, "My lil' poot pooties", I'm talking about our sweet fur babies.
