Michele Gaspardo has been a music educator for twenty three years and has been the band director at Woodland Middle School since 2002. During her tenure at Woodland Middle School, the band has earned Superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations and Concert Festivals. Each year the Band has students who earn chairs in the District and State Level Honor Bands. Mrs. Gaspardo is a member of GMEA, which she has served in many capacities. She has been the secretary for District VII and has hosted Honor Band and First Round All-State auditions for many years. Also, she has hosted LGPE. She also has been a guest clinician at local honor bands and Auburn University Middle School Clinic. Mrs. Gaspardo’s other professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, Phi Beta Mu, Music Educators National Conference, and Professional Association of Georgia Educators. She has been a Scoring Supervisor for Pearson where she scores portfolios for the EdTPA program for student teachers across the country.
When asked why she became a teacher, Mrs. Gaspardo responded, "I wanted to help kids reach their full potential by showing them that if they work hard they can do anything." Mrs. Gaspardo has been married to David Gaspardo (Retired Chief Petty Officer of USN) for 24 years and they have two children, David (21) and Georgia Ann (18). Both children played under Mrs. Gaspardo in the Woodland Middle School Band program. David is currently a member of the United States Air Force and Georgia Ann will begin her junior year at University of North Georgia. She also has 2 dogs, 3 cats, and many many fish. :)
