About Me:
I earned my BBA in 1990 and worked in the small business setting in office management, administration, and bookkeeping in Athens, GA. I returned to UGA to earn my MAT so that I could fulfill my original dream and first ambition of teaching. My sons and I then moved to Cobb County where I taught the Financial Services Pathway and Computer Applications for several years at Pebblebrook High School in Cobb County. When the opportunity became available to teach in Bartow County, it was with a sense of homecoming that I came to WMSE. The community of Euharlee and southwestern Bartow County greatly resemble the community of western Albemarle County, Virginia, where I was raised. This will be my 4th year at WMSE, and I'm so happy to be here!

Teaching had always been my original career plan. The idea of engaging young people and opening their minds to possibilities for their own lives and ambitions and ways to make their own paths through the world always appealed to me. Oddly, my father did not support this plan and persuaded me to start out pursuing an education in business. After several years in the business world, there was no denying that I wanted to be in the classroom trying to help young people find their own pathways to success and happiness. So, I dedicated myself to return to school and used my business background to become qualified to teach young people practical skills to better achieve personal, academic, and career goals. It's the most rewarding work that I've ever done!

In my spare time, I spend as much time as I can with my sons, who are now young adults and most often off doing young adult things! This means that I have a lot of time to traipse through the woods with my 2 dogs or hang out with our 5 cats. I've been a dedicated runner most of my adult life. When I'm done with all of that, I'm quite content to curl up with a good book. It's my favorite way to end the day!
