6th Grade English Language Arts
Education: Abingdon High School
I have taught in public and private schools as well as home-schooled my own children. I chose to become an educator because I value being able to impart academic excellence and knowledge into students as they prepare for life. I teach because I believe it is my vocation to help students become excited while engaging in the learning process as they unravel their uniqueness. Each student is a different journey and I love the adventure that awaits in each individual.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, read, garden, listen to music, be creative in crafting, and play with Bella, our family pet dog. I have been married to my husband for thirty-one years and have three wonderful children. I enjoy sweet tea and my front porch swing. I love a snowy day; however, a beautiful day at the beach is therapy to my soul. I enjoy the cool, crisp feel of an autumn breeze and the newness of spring in the chirps of baby birds. My favorite flower is a yellow rose.
