About Me:
I began teaching in 1991 at Model High School in Floyd County. At MHS, I taught English to grades 9-12 and coached cheerleading. In 1999, I left the classroom and accepted the position as Library Media Specialist at the newly-formed Woodland Middle School at Euharlee. I figured I would stay at WMS for 7-10 years and move on to another adventure. Apparently, each year here has been an adventure, because 20 years later, I'm still a Wildcat. I love Woodland family and I wouldn't have it any other way!
In addition to my job as the media specialist, I am the school's webmaster, I manage the distribution of the student computers, and I am the school's SST/504 coordinator.
As a little girl, I had my own "classroom" in the basement, and my idea of fun was playing teacher to my imaginary students. I loved teaching English, and my years at MHS as a high school English teacher are truly some of the best times of my life. My job as a media specialist is rewarding, challenging, and definitely ever-changing, and it combines my favorite pastime (reading) with some of my God-given strengths (organizing). I know I have the best job in the school, but don't tell anyone. :)
In my spare time, I read anything I can get my hands on!  I like to play golf with my husband and I LOVE to watch the Georgia Bulldogs play football. I live in Rome with my husband (of nearly 30 years!) and the best dog in the world, my schnoodle, Maggie. My daughter is married and lives in Chattanooga, and my son is in college and claims that he will live our basement forever (but not really...right?)
