I enjoyed being a professional mother of two children for 15 years, but as they began middle school, I decided it was time to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I finished my degree and began teaching in 1998 at South Central Middle School. After teaching there for one year, I moved to help open what was then the brand new Woodland Middle and plan to eventually retire never having taught at any other school. I feel blessed to work with the wonderful faculty, staff, parents and students in this community. I believe teaching has always been part of my life and can't imagine doing anything else. I enjoy being with children and enjoy using creative energies to make learning fun for them.
In my spare time, I love to play golf, hike Kennesaw Mountain, read great books, and spend time with my wonderful family, especially my granddaughter Katherine the Great. I have been married to my husband, Gary, for 38 years. We have three children and a granddaughter. Gary owns a business in Marietta. Our children live nearby, and spend a lot of time together. We also have the sweetest dog ever-Ella Jett- a mini Schnauzer. We even take her on vacation with us.
