I began teaching 8th Grade Math in 2017 at Woodland Middle School. Prior to this, I completed an entire year of student teaching at Hiram High School, where I taught Algebra I, Geometry, and Statistical Reasoning. I was also a volunteer tutor at Woodland High School. This year, I am coaching cross country. I ran cross country and track throughout middle and high school. As a freshman in high school at WHS, I set the school record with a time of 20:28. It has since been beaten by several talented runners. Some of my PRs include: 19:16 for 5K, 43:59 for 10K, and 1.37:39 for half marathon.
My passion for teaching was renewed during my time as a certified personal trainer. After several years teaching people of various ages how to exercise, I began teaching other personal trainers. This reignited my first dream job: to be a math teacher.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising. In addition to running, I like swimming, strength training, and indoor cycling. I also enjoy reading books and spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband Devon for over 3 years. We have one precious kitty cat.
