Code of Ethics

WOODLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL AT EUHARLEE

CODE OF ETHICS

 

Conduct:

  1.          Profanity will not be tolerated
  2.          Any disrespect to an administrator, teacher, coach, teammate, or any civilian will be dealt with by the coach.
  3.          Actions and attitudes that are detrimental to the team morale or unity will be addressed immediately.

1st Offense – half game suspension (sports without halves will go to level 2)

2nd Offense – one game suspension

3rd Offense – dismissal from the team

 

In School Suspension (ISS):

 

                No one will be allowed to practice or play in a game while assigned to In School Suspension.

                                1st Offense – missed practices and/or games will be made up after the next practice

                                2nd Offense – one game suspension 

                                3rd Offense – dismissal from team

 

Out of School Suspension (OSS):

 

Any form of OSS, other than OSS pending a parent conference, may result in immediate dismissal from the team.  Any offense requiring OSS is subject to school administrator(s) and/or coach’s review for dismissal.

 

Practices and Games:

  1.          Practices, games, and team meetings are mandatory unless prior arrangements are made with the Coach. 
  2.          Absences and Tardies will be handled by individual coaches.

*The only acceptable excuses for absences or tardies are doctor notes or death in the family, unless the athlete has received prior approval from the Coach.  Remember, if you are absent from school, you cannot participate that day.  If you check out of school, YOU must tell your coach BEFORE you leave school. Coaches have final discretion on absences and tardies.

 

Drugs, Tobacco and Alcohol:

 

                Any offense involving tobacco, drugs or alcohol will result in immediate dismissal from the team.

 

Dress:

  1.          Practice clothing should be neat, clean and sport appropriate. All students are expected to follow the BCSS Dress Code.
  2.          No jewelry will be worn during any practice or game. Any jewelry should be secured in a school or gym locker prior to practice or competition.

Personal Property:

 

Woodland Middle School @ Euharlee faculty, staff, or coaches will not be responsible for lost or stolen personal property, including jewelry and cellular phones.  Any student athlete who does not have a locker must not bring any valuables to school or practice.

 

Travel:

Student athletes are expected to ride to and from events with the team.  Any exceptions will require a written request from a parent.  Requests must have 24 hours prior notice.

 

If you have any questions about these rules, please ask the coach BEFORE participating in the sport.  Remember, EVERYTHING you do represents you and Woodland Middle School At Euharlee.  You, as a student athlete, are respected in the school and community.
